Australasia and Portugal become Full Chapters of buildingSMART International
buildingSMART International (bSI) is pleased to announce that Australasia and Portugal have officially become Full Chapters, following formal approval by the bSI Board.
We warmly welcome these Chapters into their new role and look forward to their continued contributions to the openBIM community!
The buildingSMART openBIM Awards 2025 are open for submission!
We invite you to showcase your project and be part of this internationally renowned program celebrating excellence in openBIM. This year, finalists will have the opportunity to present their work at the buildingSMART International Summit in Berlin. Winners will be announced during a ceremony on Wednesday 24th September.
The buildingSMART Data Dictionary (bSDD) content verification process consists of multiple levels, from automated checks to an in-depth review. From now on, apart from the basic three verification levels, dictionaries can go through additional, expert review of the content to receive an official verified badge to signal quality and trust, allowing users to filter verified-only bSDD content. Among the first verified are the ETIM 10.0 and the buildingSMART Airport Domain dictionaries.
Organized by buildingSMART Spain, is a collaborative, is a collaborative, team-based competition designed to challenges construction professionals and enthusiasts to apply openBIM workflows in a dynamic, team-based setting. Its goals are to promote the adoption of openBIM standards like IFC, BCF, IDS, and bSDD, encourage practical implementation of these workflows, and improve the overall quality of BIM models.
The Product Domain Steering Committee (PDSC) invites you to help shape the future of the Product Domain.
Following Product Domain Chair Michel Bohren’s presentation at the bSI Singapore Summit in March, where the Product Domain roadmap was presented, the PDSC is encouraging collaboration with individuals and organizations engaged in product and manufacturing topics.

ACCORD digital building permit pilots. Outcomes for standardization, policy-making, and decision-makers
Join the third and last webinar in the series will take place on the 14th of May from 11:00 to 12:00 (CET) as part of the 5th Building Digital Twin International Congress.
The ACCORD webinar series is designed to be an interactive platform for discussion, feedback, and suggestions between participants and ACCORD partners on the training materials provided. The ACCORD partners have prepared a set of training materials for Standardisation Bodies, Policy Making and Decision makers on the use cases, and demonstration outcomes.
