Open Design Alliance (ODA), the leading provider of CAD and BIM interoperability solutions, have announced the formation of a new Strategic Interoperability Group (SIG) to develop scan-to-BIM technologies.
Scan-to-BIM is a process for converting point cloud data generated by 3D laser scanners into parametric 3D BIM models. Applications of scan-to-BIM include as-built documentation, project additions and renovations, and facility management.
InfraBIM Open 2021 - the international conference dedicated to digital transformation and interoperability in the infrastructure sector - will take place from 30 August to 1 September 2021 in Lyon in a hybrid format, to enable as many people as possible to take part in the event.

There is a growing need to better manage the information for facility management (FM) in the built asset industry. As the use of BIM for project delivery has expanded and matured around the world, so has the handover of data generated by the process for operational and asset management uses by owners.
Finalizing the detailed project plan (DPP) for this bSI activity is well underway. One of the items that now needs to be concluded is who can provide financial sponsorship of the project.
There a variety of votes currently out there in the community with access done via the open and live website that takes information directly from the projects. You can learn more by clicking the link below.
