buildingSMART International Awards 2018

buildingSMART International today announced the winners of the 2018 buildingSMART International Awards. The annual awards program recognizes the extraordinary work done on real-life projects that adopt and use bSI standards and solutions. At an awards ceremony within the International Standards Summit Conference in Tokyo, Japan, bSI recognized 4 Awards winners and six Special Distinction recipients.

This year, 37 independent jurors selected from a variety of different backgrounds were tasked with grading the project submissions. The winners were chosen from more than 80 original submissions from many different countries. The awards were split into four categories. “Design”, “Construction”, “Operations and Maintenance” and “Student Research”.

Projects receiving buildingSMART’s Special Distinction award demonstrated excellence and innovation in the use and adoption of buildingSMART standards and solutions. These winners were chosen by an independent expert panel.
