For those who are interested in COBie, how it works, and the benefits of its application, this free virtual event is not to be missed.
Construction Operations Building Information Exchange, also known as COBie, is the widely adopted US specification for the exchange of data to support facility management by owners and operators, invented by Dr. Bill East, Chair buildingSMART International COBie Certification Subcommittee.
Having spent his early career as a project engineer, it was obvious to Bill that critical building information data had to be manually re-discovered and re-typed many times – in his own words: that is about as far away from efficient as could be imagined!
Fast-forward to today and COBie is used throughout the world to bring together key project information into one format that can easily and quickly be shared across the whole project team at defined stages of the project.
This talk will guide you through the process of COBie implementation, delivered by a panel of COBie specialists - not just those who have worked within the COBie environment, but specialists who are in a small, elite group of COBie Certified Professionals.
Bill will lead a panel discussion with Emma Hooper, John Ford, and Shawn O’Keeffe – all of whom are practicing COBie at its highest level.
The panel will focus on the five delivery steps of; People, Partners, Stakeholders, Process, and Technology – looking at each step in turn and who is responsible for effective implementation. The panel will break down what this means for all across the supply chain and how this brings the project efficiencies.
This is a free event, taking place virtually to allow us to cross continents and reach a global buildingSMART International audience.
